Slumberland is a mixed media artwork heavily layered both in terms of the concept - of chaos & finding order in chaos, which is an underlying theme in most paintings by the artist. And layered literally in terms of paint, and line work (zentangles) that have gone in the making of the piece. The influences to this work come from biology class and fairy tales. The brooding green cocoons of an alien kind, wispy threads that seem like they've been embroidered into the art; and holding the elements together, and starry trails; all pleated and tied into cohesion. It has evolved with every paint splatter, repeating florets and stray lines, developed like an organic ecosystem, in a land of dreams and slumber.
