The flap of a wing, the silent sounds of the gong. Echoes of a story that was, a story that will be.
The Butterfly effect has always intrigued me. It is a chaos theory that suggests that something as small as the flutter of a butterfly’s wing can ultimately cause a typhoon halfway around the world. The more I work with colors, I notice a similar kind of chaos in the making of art, how a stray stroke of the brush, textures, the riot of colors, finally make the larger picture, the piece of art complete.
Reverberations is a mixed media work from the Butterfly Effect Series. Over the last few years of working as an artist, I’m beginning to notice a trend of sorts. Of how the butterflies start emerging in my work almost instinctively at pivotal points of my life, at the verge of making a breakthrough of some sort. Symbolic of metamorphosis, of being ready for some changes.
