Reverberations is a mixed media work from the Butterfly Effect Series. Over the last few years of working as an artist, I'm beginning to notice a trend of sorts. Of how the butterflies start emerging in my work almost instinctively at pivotal points of my life, at the verge of making a breakthrough of some sort. Symbolic of metamorphosis, of being ready for some changes. Asma is mixed media artist based in Pune, India and open to accepting commissions for paintings and murals from clients in India as well as a global audience. Asma’s art has been bought by collectors in India, The Middle East, Australia and USA.

Reverberations, 2014

The flap of a wing, the silent sounds of the gong. Echoes of a story that was, a story that will be.
The Butterfly effect has always intrigued me. It is a chaos theory that suggests that something as small as the flutter of a butterfly’s wing can ultimately cause a typhoon halfway around the world. The more I work with colors, I notice a similar kind of chaos in the making of art, how a stray stroke of the brush, textures, the riot of colors, finally make the larger picture, the piece of art complete.
