Animation for Painkiller by Supura Sensei feat. JedLi

It’s here!!!

We travelled to the far ends of the galaxy, jumped timezones and fought mean technology glitches in mountainous hamlets and beyond to bring you this piece of music and art.

Now presenting “Painkiller” the awesome new Single by Supura Sensei aka Suprateek Chatterjee feat. JedLi.

One of our first conversations a few months back around creating visuals for this rad piece of music by @supurasensei (with some excellent lyrics & rapping by @jstjed. Such a talented bunch. phew!), went quickly off track from the original plan of doing something else to me going “hey how about we create an animation for this?”

“Errm. Yeah I’ve never done anything like it before, and my work tools are from the time of Adam, but heyyy how difficult can it be?”

From then, to posting this on social media today, day after day this has been a constant learning experience. It’s my first project of conceptualizing and animating a music video, and I’m thrilled!

Hope you all enjoy it like we have enjoyed teaming up to bring you this piece of magic ❤️

Thank you so much Suprateek and editing wiz @sumedhnatu for being the absolutely wonderful collaborators in conjuring up this animation. This has been such fun! ❤️ ( Well, except for the moments of glitchy technology when I’ve wanted to throw my computer four floors down and watch it fly!)

• • • Reposted from @supurasensei It started off as a beat on a stormy, sake-soaked evening and morphed into a collaboration with @jstjed who was my housemate at the time. We performed this a couple of times at open mics in the Tokyo area before you-know-what shut everything down. The prodigious @a5mak heard an early mix of the track and decided she wanted to do something with it – something she’d never tried before. Mr Fix-it-all @sumedhnatu was roped in to tie it all together.
